New Years In The Netherlands!

So from my last travel post im sure you all know by now that I spend a lot of time in the Netherlands. This New Years I was also in the Netherlands and have actually spent it watching the live display in Den Haag, on the beach! The funniest thing is I have never been to the one in London, but for some reason we always end up watching the display live over here. Maybe next year it will be in London. (:

On New Years Eve we pretty much stayed home and prepped food for New Years Day. That meant roast potatoes and chicken! OH YEAH! In the evening we left a little earlier, visited a restaurant in Den Haag and then went to Schvenningan Beach. When I say it was the most awesome display I have seen till date, I mean that! Only because 1) it was located on the beach 2) I was watching it live. I mean I’ve watched a firework display live before, the previous year we watched the one on the Bridge and to be fair, the people over here just light them up in the middle of the street. So we’ve seen plenty live before, but it was just different being amongst 1000’s of people counting down into the New Year.

Here in the Noord, people start lighting fireworks upto 3 days before New Years itself. Like at random times of the day. I’ve even heard them in the day time, when you can’t even see them and even very late at night. I think the people enjoy the feel of the firework, the lighting up, the representation of releasing all the negativity of 2018 into the air and the colours representing new beginnings. I guess thats how I would represent it. So lets take this year and smash the goals we set. Lets make this year count. I know I have a lot to do this year, a lot to gain, so I feel this year is definitely a new beginning for me.

I know this is a very short post, but I hope you enjoyed it as much as I enjoyed writing it.

Keep smiling my beauties! (:
